We stayed at this hotel back in July with a tour group. It was our first time in the highlands and this hotel is the number one reason I want so badly to return. The family that owns and runs this hotel are some of the nicest and welcoming people Ive met while on holiday. This hotel is probably one of the main accommodations I speak so highly and so much of when I talk about my trip. The food was absolutely delicious, the rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The views? Absolutely Spectacular. I cant wait to one day return to this beautiful place. If anyone needs a recommendation for a hotel, I will highly pressure you to reserve a room here.

Not suitable for Vegetarians or Vegans or those with food allergies or intolerances. We stayed at the Glenspean Lodge for three nights as part of a holiday tour with Great Rail Journeys, who informed the hotel that I am vegetarian and my wife had an intolerance to garlic. The hotel offers a traditional full Scottish breakfast, continental buffet, juices and cereals. There is no alternative vegetarian or vegan cooked breakfast. The evening menu offered three choices of starter, mains and deserts, which you had to choose from the previous day. Vegetarians had one choice only from each course. There were no Vegan choices. There was no imagination to the vegetarian meals, starter was soup every time. The main vegetarian meals were based around pasta and cheese dishes. One evening, the choice of starters all included garlic, no alternative starter was offered. It is fair to say that the presentation of the meals were excellent, even amazing, but the hotel does not attempt to meet guests dietary requirements. The hotel asked guests to help the environment by recycling the towels, which is fine, but there was no towel rail in our bathroom to dry and air the wet towels. We did hang the towels, to dry, but they did not. We requested clean towels, but the wet towels were folded and left to dry, so we found ourselves with wet towels throughout the stay. The bed was not made during out stay nor the waste bin emptied. The ground are beautiful, the location amazing, the hotel is clean and well maintained but that does not make up for providing damp towels and if you dont like what is on the set menu, go without. Yes, I did ask for vegetarian sausages and simply told, we dont have them. My wife did ask for a starter with no garlic and offered a fruit juice! Haggis, neeps and tatties was on the menu, can I have a vegetarian version? The answer, No. As far as our hosts, Ian and Suzanne are concerned, if it is not on the menu, tough and go without, and make your own beds. I should add that the wifi is absolutely useless. I tried to book an event, and sat right next to the rooter but kept getting timed out of the website when trying to buy tickets. In our room, we could not even log into the internet most of the time.
