Absolutely fabulous pianist and teacher!!! I can not recommend Peter enough. The standard of his playing is second to none in my opinion. His encouragement, humour and sense of fun makes learning piano an absolute joy!

Learning from Peter is a quite unique experience for me. I never thought I will be able to play on any instrument. He has patience and passion to lead the way. I am really grateful his full attention and kindness during the lessons. It is really 'a journey into Music':) Thanks a lot for every minute of it:)

Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant. Peter is a great teacher and the sessions are challenging, but more importantly fun! I've had piano lessons before and found them extremely mundane and unenthusiastic. Peter is totally the opposite and really works with you. I wanted to play a particular piece of music that was way above my limit but he was able to break it up in a simpler manner and use other music for me to play to progress towards playing the peice. Can't thank him enough. Even my dogs sing with me! If you're interested in playing the piano. This is the man to see.

I began taking piano lessons as a child, and often regretted not continuing to adulthood. Now in my sixties, and never having lost the desire to learn, I was fortunate enough to discover Peter McLaren not long after his move to the Isle of Skye. From day one he has adopted a knowledgeable and enthusiastic approach which is tailored to my individual needs as an adult learner. As a result, I am gaining in confidence and look forward to my weekly tutorials with Peter. His lessons are never dull and I am increasingly inspired with a sense of fulfilment which is infusing my life with a new sense of purpose. 'S e tidsear air leth a th' ann agus gun teagamh sam bith bu mhath leam a mholadh.

Susan( age 7) says that lessons are really fun! I enjoy being encouraged to make up my own tunes. Putting words to the notes make it easier to remember the tune. It is good to have the reminders written in the back of the book to help remember the names of the notes. Scott (the brother who has to sit through the lessons ) says that the tunes Susan gets to learn are very good and Peter is very nice teacher and encourages Susan every step of the way. The lessons are designed to be fun and Susan learns both how to play the piano and lthe written music almost by accident while having fun. Peter gets to know the pupils character and tailors the learning process around their abilities, pushing her to improve through having fun and without it being a chore. I consider the cost of the lesson as very good value for the money. Susan always wants to practice and looks forward to the lessons.
