The Island Bear

The couple who own this BnB are the nicest and most accommodating people. We were using Bowmore as our base for our Islay trip and the other people in our party were staying at the Bear (and had nothing but nice things to say about the room and breakfast) However Duncan and Fiona's hospitality extended from them to us. Their assistance really saved our plans that day and we cannot thank them enough for taking time out of their day to help me out.

We had a wonderful stay here. The accommodations were very nice, the hosts were friendly and informative, and they served a hearty breakfast. They also went "above and beyond" when our daughter injured her ankle while we were biking far from Bowmore. The owners happened to be driving by where we were stopped and took our daughter and her bike into their car to bring her back to Bowmore for us. We would certainly stay here ahain!

We had such an amazing stay in Islay at the Island Bear! The recently renovated rooms were spacious, well furnished, and gorgeous. Duncan and Fiona were gracious hosts, made an unbeatable Scottish Breakfast, and took great care of us. They were very knowledgable about the island and gave us some great suggestions. We are so grateful for our experience, and we would highly recommend anyone visiting Islay to stay here.
