They appear to be nice but they are employing quite dubious sales tactics. Be in no doubt they are primarily interested in cleverly taking as much money off you as possible. I feel silly now that I wanted to support a small family business instead of going to the more we'll known companies. At the end if the day it is my fault I should have done my research beforehand. Don't make the same mistake as me please. I came away with pair of glasses costing 475 when the ones I really needed I could have got for 75 elsewhere. In my defence I've never needed glasses before so didn't know the price of them and therefore took the advice if the so called "professional". Silly me!

Went in April 21 during lockdown. Was told I needed glasses for driving and reading. They upsold me to 500 for two pairs and refused me my prescription. I went to another optician. They said I have 20/20 vision but have dry eyes, so no need for glasses.

Absolute joke of a place. Phoned up with severe eye pain and was referred to doctor who in turn referred me back to this place for a lens test. Mr Connelly then said the pains because you didn't get glasses off me at you last check up. I explained I used the prescription and got them online for cheaper to which he replied you must have got the wrong ones. Then gave me a 2 week wait for an appointment

First visited in 2019 when I was diagnosed as requiring glasses. After an exhaustive search through all their frames I found nothing that I felt comfortable with or that I liked. I purchased a pair elsewhere. I returned today, 29.02.20 for my check up and sight test. After having the first part carried out I was asked by the receptionist if I had given their previous recommendation any consideration. I answered stating that yes I had taken their professional diagnosis fully onboard and that I had sourced myself a pair of glasses elsewhere, stating politely that I didn't feel they had anything that I had liked. Then I was asked into the office with Mr Connolly, who immediately said 'I hear you got glasses elsewhere'. I again stated what I had previously to his receptionist. Then in his best wisdom he decided to state, very patronizingly, that what I was doing was basically out of order not buying my glasses from him considering he carried out the eye test. Normally I would have walked out but I decided to let him continue with his extremely unprofessional rant, feeling the need to inform me of what his cost of materials were and how he makes no money from the nhs if only carrying out eye tests. He finished with informing me that as I wasn't willing to purchase my glasses from him then he would not be willing to post out reminders to me ( an envelope, 1 sheet of A4 paper and a stamp ). He would be 'willing' to carry out my future tests however I would have to call him to make the appointment. Once he was finished I took my time to explain how unprofessional he was, how rude he was and that if he had any aspirations to continue with dealing with the public his attitude would have to change enormously. I have never given anyone a bad review online as I understand how damaging they can be, and we all have bad days. However on this occasion he deserves nothing but this. I have never met such a rude, patronizing and unprofessional 'professional' in my life. Since sharing this experience with other people in the area today, it would appear that it is not just me who has had this type of experience with this opticians, particularly Mr Connolly himself. I will never step foot in the place again> Unless you are willing to be given the hard sell on endless out of date frames and to be spoken to like a misbehaving child, I'd suggest you go elsewhere. Very very poor experience in all aspects.
