The Kirkmichael Hotel

We stayed here for a few nights in December. We enjoyed our stay for the most part, however the hotel is now run by just one lady who, bless her, does absolutely everything - from making up the rooms to cooking. She does a great job but sadly, had we known this, we would have stayed elsewhere. This was mainly because there was a limited menu to only a couple of things and the bar closed early every evening which was a big deal for us, as its the only restaurant/bar in the area without having to drive. This meant we were in our rooms by 8pm and the TV didnt really work so we found ourselves twiddling our thumbs a bit. The whole hotel and also our rooms also smelled of smoke unfortunately, and the hotel in general is quite run down and could do with revamping. We were made to feel very welcome but sadly we wont be coming back until theres more staff/its had a revamp.

This place looks nothing like the photos,it's run down damp and freezing left after 25 min Rooms: Nothing like pictures it was damp cold and needing refurbishment
