What a fantastic place to stay as a base for exploring this beautiful area of Scotland . Very welcoming hosts Mel and Keith frequently check that everything is ok, and have a host of helpful tips for places to visit. Our small lodge with Lounge/Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom and Verandah was just right for the two of us and our dog Murphy . During our full week, in between some dog training we had travelled to Blairgowrie for, trips out to Pitlochry, Dundee, Muirhead, and a snowy Glenshee offered plenty of dog friendly locations to for us to walk . Just further on from Glenshee is picturesque Braemar, where the Fife Arms hotel offers a Downton Abbey style experience in its bar and drawing room where they serve lovely scone teas .. well worth a visit. Lots of lovely eating locations in the area, and a very hand Old Cross pub with restaurant just a 5 min walk away dog friendly too, and excellent food served in both the restaurant ( no dogs) and bar ( dogs allowed) . The friendly locals also advise on places of interest, so much so that another trip here is very likely.

Had a long weekend here in Maple Lodge, Mel and Keith are lovely and greeted us with a warm welcome! The cabin was clean, cosy and well equipped! We had shortbread, fudge, fresh fruit and fresh milk waiting for us when we arrived which was incredibly thoughtful! We had a lovely view of the animals in the opposite field. Mel was very knowledgable about the local tourist attractions and recommended us some must see spots! It was the perfect peaceful break and I couldnt recommend the cabins enough! Im very thankful we got to meet Frank the dog as well before leaving :)
