The issue since the change in ownership is the time it takes to get served. Ive walked out on occasion. They need to realize with being so close to a train station, people are often in a hurry. In David and Pats rain there was always Someone serving or ready to serve on the counter. Ive actually had the girl leave me standing at the till for 5 minutes while she stacked shelves. I used to spend a fair bit in this shop early every morning on my way to work. Unfortunately Ive had to start going to a garage closer to work, as I simply don't have time in the morning to wait 3 mins for the boy to come away from what hes doing to serve me. The new owners are never there at this time to serve on the till like David or Pat was every morning. Often later in the day when Ive been in Ive had to wait in line for nearly 10 minutes with the people there for "post office" services, When I'm only in for a can of juice, which I take a dim view of. I would rather be supporting my local shop, I have all my life until the shop got taken over. However sadly they don't make it easy. It seems the days of being able to pop in, get what you need and get on your way quick and efficiently are a thing of the past.
