I have used the team at Collins Roofing & Solar Solutions for a number of times and most recently my in-laws had the guys up, my mother in-law didnt stop going on about how lovely Tommy was lol. We have a 16 panel 4kw solar PV array on our detached villa roof in Dumbarton for over 9 years but in the past 2 months up to 15 pigeons started roosting below the panels and a ground fault developed, intermittently preventing solar generation. Ashley arranged for Tommy and 3 of his team to attend as soon as they were able. Using 2 ladders they accessed the roof, removed and cleaned the panels, roof and gutter, removing 2 nests (one of which had incorporated a cable connector causing the ground fault), and a dead pigeon. All the connectors (including a damaged one) were replaced with new ones with the addition of insulating tape to improve water resistance and the cables tied up under the panels off the roof tiles. After the panels were replaced the system is generating perfectly again. To prevent future bird access a sheet metal bird guard was fitted around the perimeter of the array. All this was completed efficiently in under 6 hours. The following day, in pre-emptive action; the boys fitted the sheet metal bird guard to the perimeter of our other 16 panel 4kw solar PV array on a semi-detached villa roof in Helensburgh, efficently done in 3 hours. This is more expensive than mesh fitted by most rival compaies but is far more effictive and durable. Thanks to Ashley, Tommy and the boys. I have no hesitation recommending this company for solar PV array problems and bird proofing.
