        Visited Biggar for the day and came to the Elphinstone hotel/pub for dinner, as the Cross Keys pub down the road didn't serve food until 4.30, despite having signs up saying 'food served all day'. Anyway, The Elphinstone hotel pub was open and serving food. I do feel the food is VERY overpriced - 14.95 for Hunters Chicken, seemed too steep, even though the food was definitely nice. The place itself was a bit tired looking and the waitress service varied from really good to lacklustre, wherein one waitress (the redhead) had her back turned to us when we left, which I felt was rude. All-in, the place wasn't bad and the food was nice, even if overpriced - oh, and the puddings were superb!!!
