The machair looked fantastic full of clover buttercups pansies and marigolds. You could hear corncrakes in several places .
Sea birds and waders in evidence on the beach . Seals in the sea close in . Oystercatchers and terns nesting in the fields.
Flocks of lapwings close to the visitor centre.
The coastal walk was a bit of a challenge with the gale force winds. But it was fun to see huge waves and to spot a few gannets.
It was great to see yellow moss and sea pinks and some interesting grasses.
The visitor centre is very informative with a list of birds and mammals seen that day/ previous day .
You can use the bird books to do your own research .
Toilets available and clean.
Parking by the visitor centre or a little further down the path but not on the machair.
