Balranald Bay View Self-catering cottage

This wonderful cottage has everything you could possibly want for an excellent stay. Well appointed with beautiful views across the bay and you can access the beach straight from the back door. The house always feels warm to come back to even when the heating isn't even on! The beds are so comfy though there is too much to do and see to spend a great deal of time in bed. We wish we could have stayed for longer...maybe next year.

We are now on the ferry home after our fifth year of visiting this beautiful cottage. Each year the improvements to the house have been lovely and weve treasured our time there. The house is immaculate and the beds are so comfy! The location is simply outstanding! Right on the edge of a beautiful white sandy beach. We were very lucky with the weather and managed lots of walking and swimming. The sunsets are breathtaking. Staying at this place is good for the soul! Cant wait for our next visit!

A fantastic location and a great place to spend a relaxing holiday. This is one of our favourite places in the world and we have been regular guests at Balranald Bay View since 2016. The owners are constantly decorating and making improvements to the house and before every holiday we look forward to seeing the changes. Always very warm, clean and comfortable. The all new windows and glazed doors are great for enjoying the stunning views especially from the lounge

April 2023 We have been fortunate enough to spend another 2 weeks at Balranald Bay View. It has been, once again, a holiday to remember forever. We were very lucky with the weather, and though the water was cold being so early in the season, a few swims were possible. There's nothing like it! The house is perfectly situated, warm, welcoming and homely. Thank you so very much. Lynne and John Cox 5/5 The house was warm and homely, with plenty of space and very clean. It had everything you needed for a most comfortable stay. We found it difficult to concentrate on anything in the kitchen as we were constantly being distracted by the wildlife outside the window. We had good weather, swam from the beautiful beach, saw the milky way, and did many walks. Seals, ever-nosey, and golden eagles, peace and quiet, it was all so enjoyable and we were sad to leave. The owners are continually updating and renewing their property, and this year we were treated to a brand new dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. The accommodation is always immaculately clean which in these Covid times seems to take on new significance. With six of us, including two lively twin girls, there was still room to spare, and everything one could need is all there in the property. The location is stunning; right by the beach from where we all swam in the bay (the girls loved it), where walks can be done direct from the door, and where bird life is abundant. The house is warm and cosy, the beds comfortable, and with all the rooms being ensuite the accommodation is really convenient. Finally, the owners could not be more hospitable and helpful and we have felt on each of our visits that we are in very safe and competent hands. See you next year! Lynne and John

We had a fantastic holiday at Balranald Bay View. It's a fabulous place to stay. The cottage is so spacious and comfortable, well-equipped and we were made very welcome by our host. Thanks Julie! The crowning glory though is the location - the stunning beach right outside the door. You are treated every day to the spectacle of the ebb and flow of the tide right from the kitchen window...if you didn't move from there you would have something to watch all day - it's a feast for the eyes watching the sea, the changing skies and of course the wildlife. Gorgeous. This is what you want to escape to! We did actually leave the cottage and explore North Uist which we loved. There is plenty to see and do. We enjoyed going to the amazing beaches - glorious and all different, walking, visiting the Island show, and we were lucky enough to see eagles AND the elusive corncrake. Marvellous holiday. We will return!
