Just returned from an overnight stay in Beauly, 3 hour drive from home, the main reason for the trip was to place an order based on the reviews. I doubt Ill be back for a few months, intended to buy a few things, came away with enough to fill my freezer. What an exceptional butchers, from the quality, and variety available, to the amazing staff. Will be back once Ive worked my way through this weeks purchases.

To be different this Christmas we thought we'd have Beef Wellington so ordered a good sized fillet from Munro's, probably one of the best decisions we've made this year! Glorious flavour, superb texture, absolutely no waste - 1kg easily enough for 8 healthy appetites (Raymond Blanc's on-line recipe).

I'm in heaven. Could John Munro's haggis be the best in the world? And here's another question... How delicious is too delicious? What an incredible haggis - extremely tasty, moist and utterly delicious. I'll be back for more. I can't recommend this butcher enough.

Called at shop today couldn't buy anything as shops card machine was down and ended up going home with nothing ATM in Beauly not working
