Before joining in September, I was looking for new ways to get some exercise. The idea of a martial arts class appealed because Im aware as I get older I will become more vulnerable. I took the plunge, a little anxious of whether Id be able to cope. and apprehensive of what to expect. I neednt have been concerned. My experience of Bearsden Martial Arts Club has been entirely positive. There are no egos at large, and everyone is just focussed on helping each other improve. The instructors are inspirational and encouraging enthusiasts, and the club is like a supportive family. I could not recommend highly enough.

I have been a member here for over 25 years, and it still amazes me how we have adapted to make what we do one of the best all round martial arts - new members consistently say that they wished they had found us sooner.

Absolutely amazing club , very varied range of activities , naturally core teaching is karate based , however the range of activities is a wide range , general fitness , boxing skills , kicking skills ,self defence , avoiding strikes , even restraint tactics if you are trying to control a situation without causing injury to the assailant , the above is really just the tip of the iceberg , you will only in life get out what you put in , I use unconsciously karate skills every day of life , driving = peripheral skills , similar with audio sound ,if tones in voices change its an indication that so is the threat of danger , always be aware of your surroundings etc , remain calm and controlled in all situations , there are lots of skills in karate other than physical , it is a way of life for intelligence , the more you experience knowledge the more you crave , give it a go, it may change your life
