I've been after a nice bushcraft knife for a while, but glad I waited for this one. It has a solid weight, well balanced and feels like it will last a lifetime. Was great hearing the history from John around where the wood & metal for the blade came from - it highlights just how unique each knife is. They all seem to have their own tale to tell. I'm looking forward to adding my own chapter to the story of mine! If you're looking for a quality knife you couldn't go wrong with anything John has made. Ive since also purchased a stunning kitchen knife from John, with the same craftsmanship and credentials as the bushcraft, its by far the sharpest knife Ive owned - to the point where you can shave with it (although, I wouldnt recommend it!). I can already tell it will last a lifetime, but less sure if it will make my cooking taste any better! Cheers John for the 2 great knives!

I initially approached Black Boar Knives about sharpening an Axe that belonged to my Great-Grandfather. It is of great sentimental value to me and after speaking to Rhona and John, I knew it would be in good hands. Rather than just a sharpening, John suggested a refurbishment so that the Axe would be usable for me and it was absolutely the right thing to do. I got updates during the process and they were kind enough to also give me some history about the forge the axe was from which really interesting and much appreciated. The end result is fantastic - it was better than I imagined and will be treasured. John is a real craftsman and it was a pleasure to use a local business that you can trust.

I've been looking to buy a bushcraft knife for a number of months now. I'm absolutely delighted with the workmanship of the knife John has made for me. The scales are made from Olive wood from Bethlehem. John is certainly a skilled craftsman who certainly knows his stuff. I will definitely buy from him again and would definitely recommend Black Boar knives.
