Stayed in Mcdonald hotel near Morpeth, staff were friendly but the hotel needs an upgrade, chipping paint, black mould on bathroom tiles and windows, very stained carpet, very long wait for food and very limited choice for vegetarians, 2 of us didn't get the treatments we wanted at spa and you can't get in touch with hotel in the first place. Very disappointed with the experience so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Have tried to book 3 twin rooms at the Forest Hills Hotel Aberfoyle absolutely no joy by telephone so made the arduous journey to speak with someone personally we arrived to find the Hotel very quiet with very few guests Eventually spoke to a so called manager whom we gave our details (phone numbers & email) and requirements to as to dates and number of rooms required we were assured that we would be contacted by the weekend of 9th October 2021 but it is now into the 14th Oct and had no response I have again tried to contact the Macdonald Head Office but no response there either I will be taking my business elsewhere Very Very Poor Public Relations so I would dread to think what it would be like if we had to speak to a member of staff (if you could find one)

This was the worst hotel stay I experienced Cadrona. Room was filthy and toilet needed painting and fixing. Toilet continually running water Paid 40 to upgrade our room. Hotel spike was was closed and duty manager said it was not viable to be opened. There were 26 guests sitting there and had to come to the main bar to get food and drinks to sit outside. The tables were not cleared from the previous day. They just did not have enough staff to operate the hotel correctly. We here given a 10am time for breakfast and we came down at 09:50 to find we had to wait in a que for 45 min to get seated and a further 20 min to get served. This happened again the next day The hotel did not have enough staff in the dining area and when we were awaiting our turn to be seated they were teaching 3 young people how to serve at tables. The facade exterior at the rear of the property was falling apart with wood and render falling apart. This was dangerous to anyone at the spike bar and gym area The phones in reception were never answered which I found out to my cost. My son and his partner left an item in the room when we left and we tried to call to see if it had been found. I rang for 30 min for numerous occasions and gave up and tried to get head office and again nobody answered. I have sent a complaint letter and have not had a reply This was a very expensive stay for 2 rooms as we paid for both rooms and it was our first meeting with our son's girlfriend and we hoped that it would be a great experience I have not mentioned everything that happened but to pay 4 star prices and get 1 star treatment because the Hotel opened before it was ready after Covid lockdown Will not use them ever again and I am sure everyone staying there at that time will agree
