Loved everything about this lovely cottage. Light and airy. Contemporary style inside. Four adults in our group and there was ample space for us all to enjoy. Everything you need is provided to enjoy it. We only had to buy our food etc. All bedding and towels provided by the owner. Cleaning and hygiene antibacterial products also provided to support the prevention and spread of coronavirus. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic location overlooking a beautiful beach and sea that is beautiful to just sit and watch the world go by. Bliss. Plenty of surfers ride the surf. First thing we looked at each morning and anytime we were there. Great front and back gardens with seating in each. A good base to visit other parts of Scotland. We went out each day to visit local towns, restaurants, beauty spots which had been recommended Good parking facilities for at least two vehicles at the front of the property. Sea View Road at Sandend is a beautiful part of the world. We shall definitely return to this cottage. The owner was very helpful, giving advice on the cottage, surroundings, local areas, etc. Extra precautions and cleaning carried out to a high standard by the housekeeper/ cleaner. Highly recommended *****

What a gem. Sue has got an eye for the little things that just makes first impressions a joy. The excellent towel art on the bed to the welcoming bottle of wine for the humans and toys'n treats for the dogs. The cupboards have everything, extra towels, bedding and even dog towels. Kitchen is very well provided for, even has condiments ready! Even a new dishcloth! It might sound like minor stuff, but it really makes arrival a lovely experience. The cottage has the best bay window with a small table and chairs, you can literally sit all day watching the beach. When you've had enough of that... There's a real fire, on the stormy day we arrived you really couldn't have planned it better, rough sea out the front, crackling fire behind us. Sandend is a tiny little old world fishing hamlet, it's beautiful. I really can't find the right words to do all this justice... Portsoy, the nearest village is unbelievably beautiful, and what a harbour. Today is day 1 of our week here, and we're already planning a return trip (even the drive up over Glenshee and The Lecht was amazing)

This place is an absolute gem. It is obvious that Sue, the owner, uses it for her own family, as she provides everything you could need - large saucepans, good sized roasting tins, mixing bowls, decent knives, a cheese grater etc, along with such things as spare bedding and loads of towels for the bathroom, the beach and even the dog!! Such attention to detail is often missing in other properties but makes a family holiday so much easier. Sue is incredibly responsive and accommodating and the location is perfect - we lost hours simply gazing at the sea (and were rewarded with sightings of the Moray dolphins and possibly a harbour porpoise, alongside a variety of seabirds). The kids (aged 14 and 11) surfed and snorkelled (thanks to Adam at Suds, just metres down the road), we walked, cycled, ran, went crabbing off the harbour wall, ate too much Portsoy ice-cream :-), ate fish and chips at Portknockie and, when we could drag ourselves away from the beach, visited the MacDuff Marine aquarium in Banff and had a great time at Morayvia and the Dallas Dhu historic distillery. We had a ball - there is absolutely nothing negative to say about this place and we will definitely be back!
