I just returned from a working holiday with Highlands Unbridled and had the best week ever! I used to ride a lot when I was younger and was a bit nervous about my skills and new horses. Dominique though was very patient and trusting so I dared to push my own bounderies. She is an expert in riding and taking care of the horses and the riders along the ride, and she showed us the amazingly beautiful surroundings.
The work and riding was in balance although I think she could ask for more to get done, because she is working so hard herself. She is a fabulous cook and I think a week working holiday is the ideal way to get back into the horsylife again and to check if you are up for a longer trip on horseback. Lovely horses, donkeys, cats, chickens and the best dog ever. I miss all of them. They are all visibly happy with the care Dominique gives. I would sign up for another week anytime!

All of the horses I have ridden there were very reliable and knew there way around the trails. Dominique also takes your riding abilities into account when picking a horse for you.
Generally, shes not only a great horsewoman but also very hardworking. She is commited to look after the horses and her guests as best as she can. (She deserves a raise if you ask me!!)
And whether with or without snow, the scenery is great and they have really nice riding paths around their yard.
All in all, I had a lovely time there and cant wait to come back!

Dominiques and Jans heartfelt passion for their horses and Scotland was on full display during our time together. My horse Maverick, a sturdy and characterful highland pony, was a friendly and trusty companion and great to ride in all gaits. All the horses are well-kept and healthy and their safety was a high priority during the tour, which also included an off-day for the horses (as well as the humans).
The Wild West Highlands Tour was as challenging as it was rewarding. You will have some long days in the saddle, especially when crossing Glen Affric, in all kind of terrain and in all gaits. Dominique, the ride leader and our photography master, however, confidently guided us through all the tricky bits and prepared us well. Yet, not only should you have stamina and confidence in the saddle but also on foot with the horse, as you need to lead them through some difficult terrain. For that you will be rewarded with the amazing landscapes of remote parts of Scotland and an overall wonderful experience.
If you look for a great horse experience you are in the right hands with Highlands Unbridled. Dominique will help find the right tour for you, as there are several on offer regarding length and difficulty. If you need any further convincing, check out their Instagram or Facebook for some pre-ride inspiration and dreaming.
