Cairngorm Mountain

Expensive tourist trap! We paid 44 to go up the funicular only to be told we couldnt step foot on the mountain. There was no signs or information when purchasing the tickets saying wed be restricted to the building and viewing platform (which only part was accessible) It makes the whole experience feel like a con! We felt completely had and we werent the only people who were disappointed. We heard a few people questioning why they couldnt step foot on the mountain or even see the peak. It was made worse when you can see walkers wondering around freely. Especially in a cost of living crisis charging 44 and not clearly explain at point of purchase whats not included seems immoral. Absolutely terrible which will leave you feeling like youve been taking advantage of - save your money and take in the view from the free car park at the base point.

Travelled from Dundee for a day of skiing. Wasn't sure what to expect in relation to Scottish skiing but was very impressed. Good beginner slope right at base and funicular to bring you up to top with decent slopes of conditions just as good as skiing in the Alps dare I say! Would like to return to dine in the restaurant/cafe on top or to hike in the summer! :)

My husband and I went on holiday to Scotland with two of our best friends to explore and enjoy the sights. We climbed Cairngorm. The scenery was breathtaking. We went to the cafe at the top and came back down on the fenicula. I would do it again in a heartbeat. This is definitely something you should do, even if you have never climbed a mountain before.

Try and visit when weather conditions allow for the beauty of the location to be valued. On a cold or wet day, it's not very welcoming for a leisurely walk... Stunning scenery when weather clears

Nice trip up, not much to do when you get there apart from the viewing platform. Video lasts about 5 minutes.
