We have spent many holidays in Scotland but Loch Garten Lodges are easily the best accommodation that we have stayed. From the very warm welcome from Gavin and Elspeth to when we reluctantly have to leave, nothing is too much trouble for them. The lodges are situated on the edge of the Abernethy Forest which is superb for any nature lovers but is also just a few miles drive from Aviemore shopping centre or The Cairngorm mountain. Walkability: From the doorstep and straight into Abernethy Forest, two picturesque Lochs are within a thirty minute walk

If you want a warm welcome, comfortable accommodation, peace and quite and a nice part of the world. Its here, enough said. Walkability: Out the main driveway, cross the road and you're on the forrest pathway, left takes you to the two lochs in Abernethy forrest or rigth takes you towards the small village of Boat of Garten.

5 stars all round, perfect cabins in a great location, we had Pine Marten and Crossbill as 7 in my party and this worked well. Cabins very well appointed and clean. Gavin and Elspeth were excellent hosts, very accommodating with some requests we had, the welcome basket was a lovely touch. Highlight for us was the wildlife, being able to watch the birds, red squirrels and especially the pine martens on our decking was incredible. Thanks for a super stay x

Our lodge (Crossbill) was immaculate, well-equipped, warm and very comfortable. It was located on the edge of this lovely, peaceful site with west-facing private decking looking over neighbouring fields - perfect for afternoon and evening sun and sunsets. We were delighted that Gavin had set up so many bird feeders right outside, and we spent a lot of time wildlife watching. For us the highlight were the pinemartens which were completely unafraid of us just on the other side of the glass and we got lots of great photos. There is a network of woodland and lochside walks adjacent to the site and the surrounding towns and villages are only a short drive away to explore. We had an amazing, relaxing week and would thoroughly recommend this site.
