Birchtree Cottage

We had a fantastic stay in Birchtree cottage - the cottage is lovely, immaculately clean and spacious, the perfect place to relax after a day of adventuring around the Cairngorms. The cottage backs on to a forest where there are some lovely walks, ideal for an early evening stroll after dinner and if you're lucky, to spot some deer! The cottage is a great base for exploring the Cairngorms, close to beautiful walking routes, cycling and not far from the coast. I'd highly recommend staying at Birchtree cottage and hope to visit again in the future!

Super clean and spacious, comfy beds and large living area. The lug burner makes for very cosy evenings by the fire and theres plenty room to stretch out, cook and eat together. The garden leads straight into a forested area, and you feel quiet and at one with nature. And yet, the railway station, local attractions, shops and restaurants are only a short walk away as are many interesting walks, hikes and rambles. Its perfectly situated for trips to the Cairngorms, Aviemore and Inverness and the hosts are amenable and quick to respond to any queries.

I booked this accommodation with a view to exploring the local area for trail running and cycling. the cottage itself is beautiful, all the rooms were spacious and the kitchen and bathrooms were really modern. There is an additional shower room right by the entrance meaning that when i was returning from the trails (some of which are right outside the door!) I could leave muddy kit in the entrance and jump straight into the shower. Amazing area to explore too, lots of walking, running trails and routes for off road and road cycling. will definitely be booking again!

Birchtree cottage is in the perfect place for those basing themselves in the Cairngorms. The property is very spacious and was absolutely spotless on our arrival. Nice touches include tea, coffee and biscuits and we found a bottle of wine to help us settle in. The decking area at the back of the property meant we could sit and enjoy the wildlife in the forest including birds and deer. We had everything we needed including all the facilities to enable us to cook. I would definitely stay here again. Its a 5 star property
