The Company, Secura Windows, sold to us 3 lots of 10 year warranties. When it came to us using the warranties it turns out that they are not worth the paper they are written on! 1. They are not in fact 10 year warranties at all, they only cover the duration of the guarantee supplied by Secura Windows, which in this case was only 12 months. 2. The warranties cover hardly anything e.g. locks or the seals. 3. QANW do not pay-out on over 66% of claims made according to the reviews left by customers. When we made a very small claim, they [QANW] firstly, stated we didn't send them the proof they required and at the same time stated they would not honour the claim. Our advice would be that QANW warranties should be avoided.

I have to say that our experience with QANW was surprisingly positive. We turned to them for help when practically all the double glazing panes in our recently installed sash windows failed and the supplier declared insolvency. The windows were covered by an insurance backed guarantee from QANW. Whilst its fair to say we didnt see eye to eye on everything (like most insurance companies, they interpret some of the fine print as they see it), they were reasonable in their approach and I could see the rationale behind their decision making. They put forward a settlement to cover materials, and although this figure was less than we had hoped, it was a fair sum based on the policy wording and quotes we had received. Without the policy, we would have been in a far worse position. This was paid promptly without me having to chase. The whole process was far smoother and easier to navigate than we had anticipated. This was largely down to our claims adviser Diane who was simply superb to deal with. She was kind, courteous, available, transparent, objective and a reassuring influence. In short a fantastic advert for the company.

Their uPVC windows policy covers only the installation and NOT the materials. So the windows could be falling to bits or turning green and they wouldn't be covered...just as long as they were put in correctly The handles on my windows are falling apart and aren't covered, so thanks for that.
