Aviemore Bunkhouse

Thoroughly disappointing stay. We checked in on Thursday afternoon having booked a twin room to be given a cramped 6 birth bunk room which was unexpected. We noted there was no hot water that evening whilst trying to wash up and reported it to owners. Despite emailing the owners and talking to the pub team and being reassured the problem was fixed weve checked out 3 nights later and after 2 long days on the mountains having not had a hot shower! Our room on the first floor should have been an exclusive booking but we came back Friday evening to find someone else in our room. The pub team quickly resolved the issue but it was disappointing to have someone else in our room when we hadnt tidied or secured our belongings (no reflection on the poor girl who was given the wrong information and room lock information!) the drying room was also not available on the ground floor as advertised and the other drying room wasnt actually warm enough or tidy enough to put our outdoor gear to dry! In the end one of our group took a hotel room in town so we could all access a hot shower!

Room was lovely and spacious. Had a double bed and a bunk bed, with a picnic table and plenty of room. Nice big bathroom, too. Towels provided. However, one star docked because the water for the shower was lukewarm and the boiler had to be reset and heat up, which took longer than the time I had (so went out to dinner grubby). And, despite closing the shower door, the room flooded and had to use a towel to stop up. Awesome pub next door, with a good selection of whiskey, whiskey of the month. Situated on a nice quiet road, but close enough to Aviemore to talk advantage.
