The service was poor on a previous visit. The staff seemed younger, not particularly from an outdoors background and not all that bothered about delivering the food I had ordered to the table. We revisited today to find the portion sizes were smaller for the same price. I had a baked potato that was considerably smaller and the side salad with crisps was hardly worth bothering with. I would happily say this portion was half the size of previous ones.

Really nice coffee and cakes, but the service was quite slow and staff could be more friendly. On both our visits there were loads of people working on laptops who seemed to be annoyed by a family being there.

Been 3 or 4 times in the last few years. Will need to find out where is actually decent in Aviemore for brekkie. Limited menu, unenthusiastic staff who leave you standing at the till whilst they chat amongst themselves. No instructions on where to find the condiments, no smiles, the waiter wore an earbud whilst serving my food... had to wait a while for my drinks after that (staff must have been busy chatting) I ordered the Avocado Toast with bacon and black pudding. The toasted bloomer was hard to cut, the bacon succeeded in being both overcooked and cold, the black pudding and Avocado where ok. The tiny portion of cous cous and crisps on the side where pointless. Maybe if the customer paid after the meal the staff might be motivated to be more friendly and helpful if a possible tip was on the horizon? Great shop underneath though and good view of the Cairngorm mountains which brought the score up.
