        Not sure about access but the coastline is good if you are interested in wading birds. Not good for sandcastle builders right there but good patches of sand along the coast nearby.

        Kildonan castle is a run at the end of the garden of the cottage we were staying in. You can see it from the roadside and the beach but not much left or safe to explore. The area is lovely. Lots of seals on the beach. Very nice tranquil getaway.
