I phoned Gary at Five Gables one day ahead of time to tell him what time I expected to arrive. I mentioned that we had had a tough time with travel logistics during this trip. He said to me: "Well, when you get here, I will make you a cup of tea and you can tell me all about it". I thought I would cry. The sentiment was so sweet and empathetic! And, indeed, both he and his mom were thoughtful and generous for our entire stay. The B&B is replete with considerate details; there were two umbrellas hanging in our room, a tiny flashlight hanging on the room key chain, binoculars next to the bay windows so that you might catch a glimpse of a passing seal or a bird at Grace's bird feeders, DVDs in the rooms, a large bookcase full of books on Scottish history and a refrigerator for the use of guests. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Breakfasts are generous and delicious. Beautiful views of the North Sea. Both Gary and Grace make you feel like a member of the family. I just can't say enough about how pleased we were with our stay at Five Gables. This was my second stay here and it will not be the last.
