Very dog friendly too, with dog treats and even a dog menu!
The distillery tour (1 hour /18) is fantastic value.
Thank you to Adele who guided me round on Sunday. So much information on the history of the site and the distilling process And who knew what a difference the cask could impart in the flavour and aroma. Plenty of tasters to demonstrate the different effects.
Thank you to Adele and the whole team who made my wife and I, and Apollo our Patterdale, feel so welcome.
I shall really enjoy relaxing at home enjoying a glass of Man Of Words, reflecting on a brilliant experience.

But sadly this was the worse tour Ive been on. Ive done Glenallachie, Glengoyne, Aberfeldy, Blair Athol, Bimber and Penderyn distilleries. Sadly this was the worse tour out of them all. Mainly being because the dram measures were tiny. The tour guide was a nice chap but he poured such small drams to taste. All our drams were poured straight out the bottle without measure and by the time he had poured all our tiny glencairn glasses the bottle of whisky he poured from still looked full. The measures were that small you wouldnt have thought anything had even been poured from the bottle.
Personally for me that was a big let down as tasting the whisky is a big part of the experience and the whisky we got barely wet the tongue.
The second let down was the price of the bottles. They started at 85 and went up to 130. I would have liked to buy a bottle from them but the 85 bottles are really only worth around 70/75 imo. And the 130 bottles would be better at 110.
I didnt purchase anything from them and wont be planning on revisiting them or purchasing a bottle in the near future unless something changes around the conns.

The dcor of the cafe is welcoming and has great links to the whisky industry.
We didn't have time to go on the tour but did visit the shop and the assistant was helpful.
Would recommend the food for sure.
