With my usual pharmacy not able to source a certain type of medication they suggested that I go to the other pharmacy at the opposite end of the High Street. On going in and explaining the problem it was discovered that this larger outlet also had not been able to obtain the certain item for a few months, but after being spoken to by the female pharmacist she realised that I was telling the truth about the other pharmacy, who held my repeat prescription, which I showed her a list of my number of medications listed in my diary. She then told me to take a seat, as she saw I was using crutches due to mobility problems, and she would see if she could work out a different medication that should be a suitable substitute, until the other pharmacy contacted the local health centre, and spoke to one of the doctors. A few minutes later the pharmacist came to me and handed me an emergency supply of medication, and explained that it would work in a similar way, and that she'd spoken to my normal pharmacy and they had confirmed my details, which in Scotland means that all prescription item are dispensed free of charge to all patients, though being an ex-serviceman, whose injuries were a result of my being on duty, my medications and medical dressings are free throughout the UK. This pharmacy and it's staff showed as to how much trouble they went too, so as to help me get the medication that I require, with the certain type causing a severe shortage in the supply system over the past several months. So a big thank you for a brilliant service to The Alness Pharmacy and it's staff.
