I booked on for a slightly last minute hack/trek as an experienced rider. I was given a very sweet cob but she would have very much preferred to be allowed to go nose to tail plodding pony style, much more suited to a beginner which really detracted from being able to enjoy the ride as much. As a ride for experienced riders I was disappointed that we had one short canter and one stretch of trot. I would have been more than happy to have a 5/10 minute assessment in the school to assess/confirm my abilities before going out of that was a reason for the cautious approach. Shame as lovely scenery and the people seemed friendly.
