Karen Miller Photography

I went on one of Karens photography workshops where we photographed red squirrels, dolphins, ospreys and dragon flies. Her technical knowledge and love for the animals shes photographing shines through in her workshops and photographs. Im not an experienced photographer & learnt so much from Karen. I left feeling inspired to get out and take more photos, Ill definitely be back for another of Karens workshops.

Karen is an excellent wildlife photographer and guide who is always responsive to the needs and wishes of her clients. I have been guided by her several times including to mountain hares in summer and winter and she goes out of her way to get you the best experience possible and willingly shares her fieldcraft and photography enthusiasm and knowledge. Her cabin The Drey is well equipped and comfortable with a wealth of wildlife right on the doorstep including red squirrels and many species of woodland bird. I have no hesitation in recommending Karen to you

I spent a morning photographing Squirrels with Karen in a woodland setting. The location offers the opportunity to get close to the squirrels and capture images at ground level in addition to the trees and perches available. Karen is very knowledgeable about the squirrels & wildlife in her local area. I had a very chilled few hours and came away with some excellent images. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Karens squirrel workshops.

I did a one-to-one one day wildlife photography workshop with Karen last month, and it was fab. It helped that I had some specific things that I wanted to get out of the day (e.g. settings for capturing birds in flight), but I learned a lot of other useful things as well. Karen is a great teacher, without any of the my way is the only way attitude that some experts have. I feel that my skills and confidence have definitely improved as a result of the workshop, and I plan on doing another one concentrating on photographing red squirrels!

I spent 2 days at different times of the year with karen. The first was in a Hide in Perthshire where she gave me great photography and wildlife tips which resulted in some great photographs and confidence in photographing wildlife. The second day was spent in Karens garden in the bird Hide and the woodland there photographing her resident squirrels - more photography tips and advice on how to set up my own Hide. I thoroughly enjoyed both these very different days and wouldnt hesitate to book time in with Karen again. Well worth it!
