Bothies & Bannocks

Callum hosted us on a day trip to Edinburgh and a fantastic tour around Aberdeenshire taking in a castle, a farm and a distillery. I'm from the area but still learned lots that I didn't know and our American guests loved every minute. He is personable and fun to be around and quickly endeared himself to our group and became a friend. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful day with Calum of Bothies & Bannocks. He has a lovely manner and is very kind. He really listened to what we wanted to do for our day out and was very flexible to the planning for the day. He is extremely knowledgeable and took us on such a beautiful, stunning route. We learnt a lot and had great fun and a brilliant time! We will definitely return to Bothies & Bannocks and we would highly recommend the company. Thank you so much, Calum!

We met with Calum for the Royal Whisky and Cheese tour last week. We had limited time to be in Aberdeenshire during our 15-day vacation in Scotland and booking was a breeze (after our first contact, I knew we had reached the perfect guide in Calum). Several days before our scheduled tour, the sad passing of Her Majesty understandably interrupted the schedule, but Calum went out of his way to ensure we had a fantastic customer experience, keeping in contact with me regularly and offering different itinerary options to ensure we had a great day. All worked out so very well from being picked up at our hotel in a timely manner, to the cheese, waterfall adventure, village meandering, spirit education / tasting and most of all, great conversation from someone who truly loves the country. and I cannot recommend this small company enough for a perfect tour and a day off for the self-drivers out there.

It was a wonderful day out. Calum organized a beautiful hike around Loch Muick, followed by a delicious picnic in the greenery nearby. The hike was perfectly suited to our skill level and what we wanted to see. We got to try some homemade Scottish delicacies and spirits. Overall it was a lovely experience and we can only encourage others to book a tour with them as well. :)
