I am a researcher at CeBSAP, Sheffield Hallam University and am working on a project in which Parkinson's Disease patients are required to provide 2 stool samples. The HyStool packs have been invaluable to include in the stool sample collection packs we provide. There is a lot of enthusiasm for eco-friendly products and the ability to flush these away once used is appreciated as it saves additional fiddling round etc. We have had several comments regarding how much better they are compared to the stool samples kits given for the NHS bowel screening (a couple of have mentioned trying to catch stools in tissue etc and finding it unpleasant/awkward). On the whole, people seem to like the product and to see its value. Furthermore, Andrew has been excellent to deal with. Many thanks!

We chose to use HyStool for sample collection in a large gut microbiome study and so far it has been good. I have heard comments that people like the fact that you can attach and remove the device without touching the toilet bowl itself which is a bonus for some people who collect their sample in a public bathroom (at work for example). However, you need to instruct your study participants to put down enough toilet paper/tissue before sample collection or the moisture from your precious sample will dissolve HyStool if it misses the paper/tissue pad. Business arrangements with HyStool were seamless and I can recommend them as a partner.

The HyStool bags have allowed successful collection of samples from patients. This had added immensely to the correlative science components of some of our clinical sub-studies.
