We are absolutely disgusted at the care our precious Labrador Callie has received from this vet. Having had all our pets with this vets for many years with each being signed up to their care plan costing us near 500 a year. Thankfully we have never really needed to call on our vet apart from routine inoculations we just accepted having to wait weeks for an appointment as normal. Anyone that knows us will know our pets are a massive part of our family and dont go without so when our Callie hurt her tail and we noticed it starting to get warm on Saturday night we were straight on the phone to our vet as soon as they opened on Sunday Morning asking for an emergency appointment. We were told we couldnt get one and they advised us to keep doing as we were and keep it bandaged. Sunday afternoon Callie was clearly in pain and her tail had massively deteriorated so again we called our vets and pleaded for an emergency appointment. We were told send a picture and they would call me back. So we sent a picture and hear nothing, I call back and am told she will be fine till our appointment the next day at 4pm, I insist that she is in pain and clearly distressed and needs looked at but again Im told no. Monday comes and after a night of my wife sleeping in the living room with our poorly Callie, whos tail was now swollen, hot, bald on one side, oozing and bleeding, my wife decided to try once again to get an earlier appt as she felt Callie definitely needed seen before 4pm, the receptionist on the phone was helpful explaining she was part of a different team than those who had been in the day before, she got a nurse to check the photos wed sent in the day before and I explained that her tail was even worse than that now, they asked a few questions about her tail (none of which had been asked the day previously) and squeezed Callie in to be seen at 9.45am, stating that her tail was indeed an emergency. My wife took Callie to her appointment, the team working on Monday cleaned and bandaged her tail and prescribed antibiotics and painkillers and advised they would order a tail guard for our next appointment. We were told to come back in two days time to get it rechecked and redressed, we made an appt for 11am on Wednesday 16/9/20. On Tuesday at 5pm (ish) we were left a message on our answering machine changing our 11am appt to 3pm, when I got the message I phoned to try to rearrange as our children come out of school at 3.15pm so there was no way my wife could take Callie to the vet for 3pm, after a lot of hassle we eventually managed to get an appointment arranged for 4pm. Wednesday comes and she is seen again, They advised no tail guard had been ordered but they have made a home made splint and to return again in two days. An hour after leaving her bandage falls off (No wonder as its so heavy with their home made splint, Callies tail was bleeding heavily and we are really concerned. I called the vet and asked if I could pop back in but was told No They close in around 40 Mins at 7pm I tell them that we have only just left and Im worried about her. I get a very Rude and uncaring nurse on the phone who simply says they will see her tomorrow and that they have opening and closing times for a reason. At this point I realised that I have entrusted all my pets to a vet that really doesnt care about them. All they care about is the 500+ a year I spend just on care plan fees. The Lack of care and compassion my sick dog was getting was disgraceful, utterly disgusting and totally unacceptable.
