Had a terrible experience with Thrifty and we ended up going with Arnold Clark instead. We had made a reservation request for a one-way van with the drop-off in Cardiff. Had to wait over a week for the request to be accepted and then only because I rang them. I asked if they could 100% confirm that we would get the van and that everything was certain. They confirmed and told me not to worry. I promptly received a confirmation email as well. Weeks later, we receive an email from the manager (after office hourse) 2 days before the pick-up date stating that our reservation had been canceled because there were no vans available. No alternatives were offered. Most unhelpful. The mobile number in the email was the wrong number and connected me to some English bloke who is in no way affiliated with Thrifty. We emailed Thrifty back asking if there were any alternatives or if perhaps there was some mistake, but never received a response. Managed to arrange a van with Arnold Clark that same evening and picked it up two days later.
