Laurels Lodge Care Home

I have to say it was such a difficult decision to pick a suitable care home for my mum but when I visited laurels lodge, I had no doubt that this was the right place for mum. She was cognitively impaired so we had to be sure. The staff there were amazing, particularly in unit 3 and they always made sure mum was well looked after. The other thing was that they took time out to cater for relatives as well and I now class the staff members I engaged with as friends. Mum passed away recently and we are so glad it was not in hospital but with all he lovely people at laurels lodge. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of Sheila and her staff who in my eyes were magnificent. Thank you all xxx

Picking a nursing home for a relative is a huge responsibility and thank goodness we visited and liked Laurels Lodge and were able to get my mum in law a place. We loved the homely feel, the staff were reassuring and friendly and the rooms nice and bright. We loved the reminiscing rooms, wee sweetie shop, the bar and the garden areas too. My mum in law settled in well and the staff were so reassuring and caring, we loved to see how well looked after she looked and they always went that extra distance in putting on her earrings etc and encouraging her to engage in activities including going to the visiting hairdresser. Marlene, activities co-ord was also very enthusiastic and regularly takes residents out and about to appropriate local activities. There are very few bank staff meaning staff get to know us and our mum well. My mum in law spent 10 months in their tender care until she sadly passed away but we are so glad she was in their care and they looked after us as well as her. The end of life care at Laurels was amazing and made it all easier for us. Thank you Sheila and staff (especially unit 3), you all are so friendly and professional with a really challenging workload and it is so appreciated xx

Would just like to say how delighted I am with the care that my mum is receiving at Laurels Lodge. I had to remove mum from a different care home as her level of care was not being met. I can't believe the difference Laurels Lodge has had on my mum. She is content and happy and that makes me feel very relieved. The staff are just brilliant, very caring and patient. They are consistent too, always the same faces, which to a person with Alzheimer's is very important. Mum always looks clean and well cared for. There are lots of activities and the social side of Laurels Lodge is just brilliant. Parties with great music and entertainment. I honestly can't complain about anything. In fact, I would go so far to say that if I ever have to go into a care home I would choose this one. Thank you for all your hard work, it's really appreciated.
