The Leith Walk Steads Place fiasco has shown Drum Property in their true light as grasping, self-interested bullies. The City of Edinburgh council have unanimously rejected Drums planning proposals for the site, and their former partners at the University of Edinburgh have walked away from the project. Yet Drum Property mercilessly press on with the destruction of sixty local family businesses and social enterprises, resulting in the loss of 400 jobs, while showing no sense of remorse. They turn to the press to call the site neglected, yet the only neglect in this case has been from Drum themselves, as they sit in utter dereliction of their duty as commercial public landlords. Graham Bones public comments have revealed that Drum Property is run by a childish, whining crybaby; while his PR henchman Fife Hyland is a slippery, mealy-mouthed confidence trickster. Run a mile from engaging in business with these duplicitous, power-drunk, immature and heartless cowards. The University said the decision was prompted by fears among senior staff that Drum had failed to address concerns of the community and the City of Edinburgh Council that the development would have a negative impact on Leith. - Scottish Construction Now - 13 May 2019
