We have used Northern Diamond in the past for my sons bracelet & couldnt fault them. My necklace my dad bought me 7 years ago before he passed away had snapped 2 days ago so decided to take it to this shop as we received a good service previously. Upon looking at the necklace the guys in the shop inside the trinity centre said they could fix it no problem & gave me a price, my necklace is 14 karat white gold with diamonds so before paying & allowing them to try fix the necklace I asked if the necklace would need Rhodium plated due to the type of necklace to which I was told no, payed & was told to come back an hour later. When I returned the necklace had been fixed but where it was fixed it looked black & looked as though theyre was a knot where the necklace was soldiered back together, spoke to the guy who then translated to the jeweller who took the necklace back & went and done something and when he came back it looked more black than it was a few minutes before. We explained the sentimental meaning of the necklace & made them very aware we were extremely unhappy with how they made the necklace look & was told to go speak with Simon in the shop on union street. Speaking to Simon he agreed the jeweller should have never agreed to do the necklace as they would be unable to fix it correctly, was told they would order Rhodium to plate the necklace back to how it should look but they would need to order it in & to come back Monday. I got extremely upset & all I was told was it was no problem & they didnt understand the problem when they could fix it, I was upset due to the sentimental reason of the necklace & it looked terrible. I left the shop and had a feeling not to trust these guys as they had to order rhodium in & they admitted they shouldnt have tried to fix the snapping so I got a refund and took it somewhere else. Instead of saying they cannot fix the necklace they would rather take my money & make a mess!!! Avoid these guys especially with sentimental pieces!
