They are helpful if you need help with your CV, or writing a cover letter, for job applications. You can go in and use the computers free, but only for job seeking. It helps if you get a very helpful person though. I made sure that I made an appointment with a woman who was from another branch, who was very helpful to me. Although I think they are more interested in helping school leavers and students than the more "mature" worker, who was always used to just filling in an application form for a job in days gone by. Everything is done online now, and no employer takes paper CVS now, so it is a good idea to get help with your CV. It will come in handy. I was made redundant from a job I was in for nearly 7 years, and I needed advice, because that said job just took me on immediately at the time, and I had no updated CV, but they gave me a pile of leaflets on redundancy...to do with Oil and Gas! The very thing that I wasn't even employed in. They really need to pay more attention to more mature people.
