The Barbers Pole

I have been before, usually good service and a good price. I went in today and I had a vibe that the lady in the shop seemed disinterested, tired and apathetic. I wasn't sure whether to stay but I ignored my instincts and took a seat for a beard trim. The lady then went on to hack into the hair, above my sideburn - presumably as she wasn't giving my beard trim her full attention - removing a big chunk of hair! This was not what I was looking for. She then proceeded to try and "fix" this by trimming at the end of the patch where she hacked at my head. The bread trim itself was not to the usual standards. The neck line she cut was poor - I had to ask her to trim it higher and the lining around the moustache was rough. I didn't want her to try and fix her work. I just wanted to get out of there. I feel given that she hacked away at my head she should have paid me for the experience but I just just tapped my card and ran. I would have been better off not bothering. I don't think I will be back this experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Service: Beard trim

Turned up and place was closed unofficially for half an hour. This has happened twice. On the first occasion I was turned away because the hairdresser needed a break ! Once you get in, your wait can be quite variable. Some women hairdressers can chat with "young talent" on the seat for ages even if the hair actually getting cut is virtually nothing at all. Very good and professional work. Prices are very reasonable. They offer student discounts from Monday to Thursday.
