Be very careful and check and confirm charges if you choose this company. I dont normally do reviews good or bad but Im so angry I had to. I did not proceed with the build due to the escalating build costs and cost of living. On receiving the final invoice I noticed Id been charged 15% instead of the 12% I expected. I knew there was an extra 3% charge for the interior design service. I did not have interior design. I was asked what finishes I wanted and was told to go to Laings Direct for kitchen and bathroom designs. ( I will add that for a charge of 50.00 I received far better service from Laings than I have from Tintos which has cost me thousands). On querying the invoice I was told Id agreed to the full package from the start. I would definitely not knowingly have agreed to that as my budget was very tight and I would have chosen to go with a different company. As I hate confrontation I grudgingly paid the invoice against the advice from family and friends who said I should not pay. I was told on payment my plans would be sent out to me, two and a half months on still no plans! My brother wanted me to add that he will be building within the next 18 months and definitely will not be using Tinto.

The team at Tinto have handled a number of planning, building and design projects for myself and related projects over the past 5 years, they have a great knowledge and exceptional vision when it comes to getting the very best out of the space they are working with. It has been refreshing to see proposals and solutions that we did not think were possible, made possible. I can highly recommend the team at Tinto's

We fell for a fantastic sales pitch in July 2020. Disappointingly, little of that came to fruition whilst designing and planning our Kitchen/Dining/Living Area extension. It was evident that the site survey was substandard as we received numerous requests about various elements that should have been captured during the survey (including the requirement for me to carry out dimensional checks). There was no concept of keeping within the agreed project budget, regardless of how many times queried. That became evident in December 2020, when we had the privilege of paying a Quantity Surveyor 900 to inform us that the architect had provided us with plans and planning permission for a build that was estimated to be more than double the agreed budget. Much to our disappointment, we had to start again, with a build delay of 12 months and a subsequent significant increase in material costs. Over the last 6 months of the design stage (2nd time round), all communications were managed through emails. Not one face to face or Teams meeting. We had to constantly ask for the progression of the visualisation of the external finish options and we were informed that cladding samples would be obtained by Tinto Architecture, which we tired of waiting for and obtained ourselves. We also had to rely on our builder to come up with a solution to an unwanted imposing gable end structural beam, the design of which would have imposed on our new ceiling. An architectural issue I would have expected the Architect to have resolved when I expressed my concern about the beam. Once final payment was made for the design services carried out, Tinto showed no further interest in how the project progressed. We are absolutely delighted with our extension but credit must go to our builder not Tinto Architecture
