Fantastic accommodation, lovely site right near the beach and easy access to Dalbeattie forest if you like a bit of mountain biking. Back to the accomodation, the lodge is spacious and well equipped. The owners are friendly and go out of their way to welcome you. The lodge can sleep up to 6, theres a shower room and a bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. The site is so peaceful but there is an on site pub/restaurant. The pool isn't available to guests at this lodge but don't think you're missing much. Overall, fantastic.

As always our well equipped lodge was spotless and welcoming upon arrival. Just like a big comforting hug from an old and trusted friend. The sun was shining and the balconies with views of woodland, lake a sea were simply inviting. The perfect place to forget the stresses of work and a years worth of lockdown. Located just a five minutes walk from a beach that fills the horizon further than the eye can see with countless interesting clifftop walks and endless beach combing opportunities. This is a beach that caters for young families, couples, dogs and the elderly alike. Something for everyone..and there's plenty of space for everyone. The site is peaceful and safe, filled with passing wildlife. We've seen badger, fox, deer, buzzard, red kite and red squirrel without leaving the lodge, and can top that off with Kingfisher and otter just down by the lake over the road. We've visited plenty of local attractions with Threave gardens, Sweetheart Abby, Caerlaverock Castle and Broughton House being our favourites. Castle Douglas is worth a mooch around too, but if you need a quick top up of supplies then the small shop in Colvend just a mile or so down the road is more than adequate. The circular walk from Rockcliffe to Kippford is a must, with the option of refreshment at the halfway mark. There are plenty of cycling tracks through the forests, and adventure centres for the more active. However, we love nothing better than chilling out with a few books and catching up on unread magazines listening to the waves caressing the beach and the birds chattering all around us.

It was a lovely stay. The accommodation was five star. A hidden gem. The dogs were right at home they even got a little doggy bag how cute is that. A lovely welcome from Jo and Mark. We even got a very generous welcome pack, that you dont get elsewhere. Would recommend this to anybody looking for a lovely holiday. 10 out of 10
