Dreadful. Clearing out my father's garage after his passing. Get there and they say they need proof of address. We didn't have any. And the rude man wouldn't take verbal confirmation. I said well it doesn't say on your website. 'Well that's why there's a big sign at the gate' what use is that !!! Have to drive 10 miles there and 10miles back again. Very Very poor service!!! Disgraceful

I live on the country road between Dundonald and Comber . I'd never actually been to this recycling centre before. I drove less than 2 miles to it, to dump two large (empty) cardboard boxes. Guy stops me at the gate and asks for my postcode. I tell him BT16 (as my house falls into the BT16 postcode area). So he tells me I can't use the centre. I explained to him, I live like about a mile outside Comber, but didn't make any difference. Bonkers red tape prevailed. I totally get it, that you don't want people driving from all over the country to use the centre, but a wee bit of common sense wouldn't go amiss with these people. When someone lives a mile and a half away, just outside Comber, you'd think it would be logical to use the 'local' recycling centre? But logic isn't their strong point obviously. So I drove to Ards (6 miles from my home) and used that centre with zero issues!

Completely scrap. I rocked up 5 mins before close when Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys doppelganger was trying to close the gates and wouldn't let me in because I was driving a van, which I'd hired for the day to move house. So if you are a van owner or have hired one for the day you won't get in unforch. Looks like a total dump anyway.

You can rarely get into this place these days. More often than not you will find a queue of cars waiting to get in because the centre is "closed for servicing". The council really need to change how they operate this centre. It would be much better to close the centre for a fixed hour in the day and service it then so that people know when they will be able to use the facility.
