Excellent, professional and friendly staff. My son just had his first filling and was very anxious, but Michael and Gemma were amazing at keeping him calm and informed, every step of the way. When other Dental practices were turning us away after the pandemic, M.A. Irwin were willing to help. I was very grateful to book reliable slots for my two sons. The staff have also helped immensely in referring my 13 year old son for orthodontic treatment. If he hadn't been reviewed when M.A. Irwin took us on as clients, I fear that my sons would still be without this much-needed branch of our health service that I fear we have all taken for granted, for far too long.

After my childrens routine appointments were not scheduled due to an apparent covid backlog in November 22 and told at that time they would be in touch as soon as an appointment was available, called in April to be told they were no longer patients as the surgery has gone private, asked when exactly they were going to inform us to be told "I am informing you now" and the reason I hadn't been told was they had no email address for us, asked why they couldn't call the response was "they couldn't be expected to call all patients" and if my children were to be seen it could be done but as a private service. Contacted Health and Social care to query this action to be told my children are still registered as NHS patients with this surgery??? Absolutely shocking service and appalling attitude from staff. Even if I wanted to have private treatment, it certainly would not be here. Edit in response to the reply, appreciate the shortage of nhs dentists but my comment wasn't the fact the surgery is now only providing private dental service it is the fact that no one thought to inform us as patients that it was changing and not even offering nhs treatment to children, had I not called I would have still been thinking my children were registered, common courtesy would have been to inform all of the patients registered.

I can't rate this dentist highly enough. And I've been a patient there for decades. I recently had six teeth removed,(due to ill health) and I was extremely anxious. Michael and his staff went out of their way to make sure they did everything possible to help. The actual finished look of my new teeth is absolutely fantastic. I have my smile back. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. All the dentists at this surgery are fantastic. My son goes there, as did my daughter before she moved to England. Thank you Michael, Gemma and all the staff for all your help

I have never written a bad review in my life but feel compelled to do so after my experience today! Having written an email to document my dissapointment at a 80 (yes 80!!) charge for missing an appointment, I recieved a call from the 'practice manager' who wanted to know what my email was 'all about'. Before I had the chance to respond, I was subjected to a tirade of abuse which involved being called a 'child', a 'brat' and patronised because I now 'no longer a dentist'. The 'practice manager' then hung up the phone. I have genuinely never been spoken to in such a manner and was completely shaken for a couple of hours after. I would implore anyone to do their own research on this practice - the Google reviews do not document this as an isolated incident. Thankfully this 'child' is an adult with kids of his own. I can only imagine how an actual child or even worse an elderly patient would feel after this experience.
