I visited this place recently being one of the start point for my hike to Slieve Bearnagh and Meelmore. Our whole group gatherer here for the hike and this place also offers paid car parking. There is wee restaurant to get coffee pre or post hike and its the best place to find something to eat after the hike. I also realised later that I have stayed here In the past. This place itself offers great views of slieve Meelmore. In the night, there was hardly any light pollution and I was able to do night sky photography with Slieve Meelmore in backdrop. The owner left the keys at the door and as cause we reached the place a bit late in the evening. It is all equipped with usual cutlery. I had a very good experience for the night stay. I saw few people camping inside the tent in the parking area but wasn't sure of the idea. Overall a perfectly placed stay. This place can be booked on Air BNB.

Hostel & camping facilities are good, clean and comprehensive, with washing up area. Toilets warm. Private room was very good, plenty of power points and hangers for coats etc. Shared kitchen area with plenty of cooking utensils and cutlery, lots of fridge room and plenty of seats with a big table etc. Beautiful views when the clouds allow! There is a cafe/bistro but limited opening hours in the off-season. Small price to pay to have the hills to yourself. Owners very friendly and accommodating.Slap bang in the middle of the mountains but around 10 mins from amenities. All in all, good value. Highly recommended and perfect base for adventures in the Mournes.
