I had great expectations about breastfeeding both of my babies but I had no idea the different challenges I would face particularly in the beginning. A friend of mine introduced me to Helen Hancock (a breastfeeding counsellor) and I was met with kindness, understanding, compassion and a direct line to a lady that knows everything there is to know about breastfeeding. She encouraged me, checked in with me and introduced me to a group of breastfeeding mothers who support each other and advise each other on everything breastfeeding and parenthood. With the support I received, I was able to carry on feeding and words cannot even explain how much that meant to me. Helen's artwork is just beautiful and I had wanted to purchase gifts for both my girls but I only had leftover milk from my 2nd baby to be infused in glass. So, I sent Helen a picture of me feeding my 1st baby and she said she could re-create the picture in glass. Well, I was absolutely astounded with the result that I received! I am so happy! This is a very unique piece of artwork that is so personal and so connected to me and my children. Thank you Helen.

After facing a lot of challenges trying to breastfeed my first baby, a friend recommended I speak to Helen to see if she could help me (as she is a qualified Cuidiu breastfeeding counsellor). Helen really listened and saw what me and my baby needed. She completely saved our breastfeeding journey and her help and advice has been invaluable. She helped to link me with a network of mums and I have never known support like it. When I found out that she made glasswork with breastmilk in it I gave her some of my milk to put into a simple pendant necklace. Her work is stunning and I am so happy to forever have a reminder of the milk I gave my child, and all the ups and downs along the way. Helen's art is different - she cares about people and what she produces for them. Her pieces are so closely connected to our individual journeys and she helps us preserve memories and showcase the beauty of them through her glass.
