Pleasant walks, but there are no signposts or waymarks indicating the routes. The terrain is unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. The paths can be waterlogged, very muddy, narrow in parts and the steps are very eroded away in places. Also, be aware of the toxic Giant Hogweed, which grows profusely along riverbanks at certain times of the year. Unfortunately, there is litter and broken glass scattered sporadically about the area but at least I saw little dog fouling. Overall, I do not consider this a family-friendly hiking area.

Poor signposting of footpaths - looks like a few signs may have been removed. Attractive walk alongside the river though.

I use this area for whitewater kayaking. Great river with all the features needed to hone skills. Also very popular with walkers and their dogs. From what I've seen as I spend most of my time on the river, the walking trails aren't practical for wheelchair users
