Beautiful big old abandoned mill echoing the industrial grandiose of yesteryear. Unfortunately it is no longer accessible or safe by the dilapidated looks of it but it is mightily impressive to behold. Big and brown brick bold ,it exudes memories of our hard working and exploited forebears ,toiling away producing linen and the owner very wealthy. It sits atop the town of Gilford ,right next to the river Bann like an unloved tomb, an industrial relic or a forsaken church. A sign proclaiming private suggests it has been bought for redevelopment, perhaps even salvage with all those historical bricks. Who knows but in it's hey day it must have been some sight to behold and employed most of the local residents.
