Situated in a beautiful rural setting just outside the village of Tulluhogue, the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses of Cookstown Congregation is a place of worship that is peaceful and tranquil. Weekly meetings are held here on Sunday at 10.30am and Thursday at 7.30pm. On Sunday there is a 30 minute public talk given by a local or visiting speaker, followed by a 1 hour congregation question and answer discussion (participation is voluntary) taken from a study article in the Watchtower magazine. Thursday meetings begin with a theocratic school were volunteers are educated on how to be better preachers and teachers of Gods Kingdom - a work Jesus himself started. The school lasts an hour and comprises talks, demonstrations, bible reading and informative videos. The remaining 45 minutes is used to discuss various spiritual topics in the form of talks, congregation question and answer discussions (participation is voluntary) and video presentations. Songs are sung at the beginning, middle and end of the meetings (lyrics are shown via video at the front of the hall on a large screen) This is a gem in the community. Anyone interested in furthering their Bible knowledge and associating with people who are genuinely interested in their community's spiritual needs, as well as those who are curious about the worship that is enjoyed here are welcome. This is a friendly place with an inviting atmosphere. No collections are taken. Donations to the worldwide work and local Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses are voluntary. Bible based literature in various languages is available free of charge in English, Irish, Tetun Dili, Lithuanian, Polish, Latvian, and Portuguese and more... Facilities are available, including a baby changing area and wheelchair friendly access.
