The Secret Garden at Garvagh

This was such a disappointment, firstly the owners messaged saying they have to move us to a different chalet because the original one needed maintenance however, later on we noticed that someone was actually staying in our original chalet. At our chalet there was loose building wood lying about outside plus garden gloves aswell. Just didnt seem like it was properly prepared for our arrival. We tried heating the hot tub for like 4 hours having a constant fire hit it just wasnt heating up, the top of the water would be slightly luke warm but below that it was absolutely freezing. Attempting to get it heated takes so much time and also takes away from the relaxation completely. We ended up going into the hot tub for 10 minutes then getting out because it still wasnt even lukewarm. Completely ruined our experience. The floors in our chalet were very dusty and I ended up going through 3 pairs of socks which all ended up black from the floors. For 170 we personally think its absolutely ridiculous how the hot tub isnt heated for you especially because it takes so much time and effort to do. We have stayed in many air bnbs for a similar price and sometimes even cheaper and they were all of a much higher standard than this one (all including hot tubs that were either electrical hot tubs or ones completely heated up for us). Personally would not recommend this place at all, if we wanted a night away without a hot tub we couldve saved ourselves about 100.

This place deserves more than 5 stars. For a start Anna has been amazing with anything, shes only a text away and will help with all your needs ( even how to light a fire even though she showed us via pictures ). The location is amazing with shops / food places etc only 30 second walk and coleraine town only a 10 minute drive. The lodge itself has everything you need in it and is spacious, really makes it feel cosy and safe - we brought bread and butter etc but there was already bread, butter , eggs , tea coffee etc waiting for us. The outside area with the decking and outdoor furniture is covered which makes it good to eat breakfast etc outside. The hot tub is just a massive bonus!!! When I heard it was just on the Main Street I thought it would be quite an open area but your tight back and there is a gorgeous walk with a river right beside you. This is honestly the best place we have been - we leave tomorrow morning and have booked to come back for a week in July/august.
