This is the most welcoming bar I think Ive ever been in with both the staff and customers!! The staff are so warm and friendly who cater to your individual needs without question including bringing your drinks to the table for you if needed, for example if youre elderly or disabled and would find it difficult to get to and from the bar etc.. The locals who drink there are the salt of the earth and made me feel like one of them within minutes of being in there. The live music there is fantastic, a guy called Bill McIntyre was gigging there the few times Ive been and let me tell you what a voice that guy has, but not only his voice is worth shouting about but also his personality, he gets the crowd involved with his great sense of humour and quick whit but you can also get up there to sing a song or twoeveryone makes you feel like youre Whitney Houston or Frank Sinatra up there on their little stage but I enjoyed Bills voice and company very much indeed. But if youre down the Shankill Road area you really have to pop in for a drink and say hello to Boycie (bar manager) and Curtis the barman who will welcome you like you really are one of the locals. Theres a couple of pool tables in the back room where you can also sit and have a drink, its a lot quieter in there so you can talk but also still hear the music from the other room. The Rangers is also very dog friendly, Ive met quite a lot of really cute dogs while there who were very well behaved I must say though this bar only takes cash payments, no card or contactless whatsoever which you do get used to very quickly and they dont sell bar snacks like crisps and nuts etc.. but you can take in your own snacks and sandwiches if youd like to which I think is great as a lot of establishments dont allow that! All in all this bar is absolutely fantastic, they definitely get from me for being the friendliest, salt of the earth bar I think Ive ever been in on my travelsand believe me Ive done a lot of travelling and been in a lot of bars over the years!!
