Great value rentals and John is quick to get back to you and make plans with you. I have rented three different properties from John over the last three years and the experience has been overall stress-free. I found my housemates to be more stressful In the second property I paid 215 a month for a big double room which is most likely one of the cheapest rents in the UK! Applying was simple and getting my deposit back was a breeze. There were a few problems with the properties but nothing which couldn't be fixed. John is generally quick to arrange repairs or deal with issues. Rentals are standard and suitable for students. You cannot complain when you look at the competitive prices he offers. He also has very nice properties which are more expensive for good reason if you are looking for some luxury. Great value student rentals! If you're looking for luxury then increase your budget !

My son leased a house with five other third year students. When we took on the property it was in very poor state. There was severe condensation and mould, and in two of the rooms, with the most severe problem, this was just painted over. Not treated. We were told that the property was cleaned before we arrived and he blamed the state of the place on the previous residents (also third year students). We spent a whole weekend treating and cleaning the house, ready for our children to move in. The wardrobe was wonky- the backboard had bowed due to damp, as was the case with the chest of drawers, which my husband had to repair so that any clothes could be put it in. Ultimately, my son had to use a suitcase for jumpers and tee shirts as the dampness and poor state of the drawers could no longer open or close without effort. When Mr Lambon withheld money to clean the property at the end of their tenure, he accused the boys of causing the damp. The house is poorly ventilated, insufficiently heated and Mr Landon has not yet addresssed the issue of mould. Painting over it does not make it go away! Avoid leasing or renting any homes for this person, unless you have a video diary of the state of the house in Sept, and record every telephone call, email and issue on video so you can challenge his decision to withhold cleaning fees at the end of the academic year. Leave nothing to chance or undocumented.
